SRDC continues to encourage all municipal corporations found within the southwestern region of the province to become members of the development corporation. All that is required is a simple resolution stating that intention. There is no membership fee involved.
Rather than continuing to require annual membership resolutions, SRDC implemented a change in policy in 2006 which allowed municipal councils to pass “blanket” membership resolutions. Most of the councils within the region chose to pass this type of resolution. By doing so, their SRDC membership will stand until it is rescinded by a further resolution. At this point, 63 out of the region’s 66 municipal corporations are members of SRDC.

In order for a funding application to be approved by the SRDC Board of Directors, it must meet all funding criteria. This criteria includes the point that there must be at least three municipal corporations partnering in support of any project applying for SRDC funding. It is important to note that all municipal corporations involved must be members of SRDC.
For SRDC purposes, the region has been divided into four zones. The following is a listing of the municipal corporations found in each zone. SRDC members are listed in black.
